Klehm Arboretum and Botanic Garden

Since late March I have been dropping by Klehm once or twice a week to watch the trees and wildflowers bloom. There's always something new. Click the photos for larger versions. And if you're in the Rockford area, be sure to stop by Klehm and do some exploring of your own.

A variety of Narcissus. Thanks to Betsy Rogers for the ID!


The colorful center feature is not dozens of stamens splayed out ala Busby Berkeley. It's a daffodil-like cup, mostly flattened.

In their habitat, behind some bluebells:

    Thanks Betsy! I thought it must be a bulb of some sort. Looks like Narcissus poeticus.
